Nextdoor Welcomes the City of Brotherly Love to the Neighborhood

Written by Jen Burke

Today, the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Police Department announced their partnership with Nextdoor to help build stronger, safer, and more resilient neighborhoods with the help of Philadelphia residents.

Philadelphia is the largest city in the country to adopt Nextdoor this year. More than 265 Philadelphia neighborhoods are already connected on Nextdoor, and they now have the ability to receive important information from City departments.

Led by Managing Director Rich Negrin, five Philadelphia departments adopted Nextdoor today including the Philadelphia Police Department, Office of Emergency Management, Streets Department, Licenses & Inspections Department, and the Philadelphia Town Watch.

Nextdoor Co-Founder, Sarah Leary, was in Philadelphia to celebrate the announcement with top city leaders and local Nextdoor members.

Philadelphia joins other innovative cities across the country who have partnered with Nextdoor including Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Oakland, and San Diego, to create stronger and safer communities to call home.

From all of us at Nextdoor, thank you to the City of Philadelphia for sharing our commitment to bringing back a sense of community to neighborhoods.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Philadelphia!
