Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Written by ndmulti

Paul Blanck had no idea why his chicken crossed the road, but he did know this: that his neighbors might help find her.

Without hesitation, Paul posted to his Nextdoor website, asking the community to keep an eye out for his brown hen. She’d flown the coop a few times before, but according to Paul, she always came back.

“Funny, I never gave her a name,” Paul said. “Never had her long enough to do so.”

She’d flown the coop a few times before, but according to Paul, she always came back.
His neighborhood was on high alert, though – ready to help Paul and his family reunite with their hen. One neighbor reported on Nextdoor that she’d found a freshly laid egg in her recycling bin. Another said she was certain her dog had been barking at the hen.

A few days later, a neighbor posted saying that the hen had appeared in her backyard. Paul didn’t waste any time, heading over to her house to pick up his wayward hen.

Needless to say, this time Paul will give his hen a name.

As reported by the Kansas City Star.
