Welcoming the First Animal Services Department in the Nation to Nextdoor in Dallas

Written by ndmulti

We’re excited to announce that, starting today, the first Animal Services Department in the nation will be logging on to Nextdoor to more easily communicate with residents. The City of Dallas Animal Services Department is the first department of its kind to join Nextdoor, and joins the Dallas Police Department in going high-tech to connect with Dallas residents.

“Nextdoor plays a crucial role in forming relationships, strengthening neighborhoods, and connecting residents.”
Dallas Animal Services will use Nextdoor to provide important information to Nextdoor neighborhoods within Dallas to help enhance the relationships between people and pets in Dallas communities, such as animal friendly resources and opportunities, helpful tips and safety reminders, and updates on local animal adoption events.

Hundreds of neighborhoods in the City of Dallas have already been using Nextdoor to connect with each other and the Dallas Police Department, and we’re excited to welcome Dallas Animal Services to those conversations. This partnership exemplifies Nextdoor’s commitment to connecting residents in Dallas, and across the country, with the local agencies that improve the quality of life for neighbors – and now their pets, too – across their communities.

“As one of the premier tools for communicating about pets and pet-related issues in our community, Nextdoor plays a crucial role in forming relationships, strengthening neighborhoods, and connecting residents,” said Dallas Animal Services Division Manager, Jody Jones. “Studies have shown the safest communities are the ones in which neighbors participate and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of this effort.”

From all of us at Nextdoor – welcome to the neighborhood, Dallas Animal Services!
