Nextdoor is already well-adopted across Miami. More than 60 neighborhoods, representing nearly 50% of the neighborhoods across the city, are using Nextdoor to communicate about the things that matter most in their neighborhoods. The Miami Police Department joins the City of Miami, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and several other local public safety and government agencies in the greater Miami area on Nextdoor.
Chief Llanes believes that this partnership will enable the Miami Police Department to build stronger and safer communities with the help of Miami residents.
“Being able to easily communicate with residents is extremely vital to not only maintaining, but also increasing safety and reducing crime within our communities,” Chief Llanes said at today’s press conference. “With Nextdoor, we can help empower neighbors to keep their communities safe and connected.”
This partnership opens a new communications channel for the department, enabling dozens of Miami Police Department Commanders to connect with the neighborhoods they serve.
We were honored to have two local Nextdoor Founding Members and Leads join us and speak at the press conference to show their support. George Assai, Founding Member and Lead of Nextdoor Silver Bluff, and Denise Sasain from Nextdoor Shenandoah were excited to celebrate the partnership and welcome the Miami Police Department to Nextdoor.
“There’s so much potential in regards to how neighbors can help neighbors. It really is about our community coming together to solve problems,” Denise said.
We are proud to partner with great agencies like the Miami Police Department who are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to make their cities even stronger and safer places to call home. From all of us, welcome to Nextdoor!
