Today, Streetlife members are invited to signup for Nextdoor and join the Nextdoor community. Streetlife will close down after a short transition period.
Both Nextdoor and Streetlife have a shared mission to use the power of technology to build stronger, safer, and happier local communities. Neighbors have used both platforms to exchange trusted recommendations for local service providers, find lost pets, organize neighborhood watch, and, above all, to get to know their neighbors.
Thousands of neighborhoods across the UK have already started Nextdoor websites for their communities since our launch just five months ago. Now, in some areas of the UK, one in every two households are using Nextdoor, and, in London alone, 40% of the neighborhoods have adopted Nextdoor.
This marks a significant milestone in our international expansion. Nextdoor is now the largest neighborhood social network in the world, and we are pursuing expansion plans in France, Germany, and several other European countries.
We’re thrilled to welcome our newest neighbors from the Streetlife platform, as well as Streetlife’s founder, Matt Boyes, who will serve as an advisor to Nextdoor moving forward. From all of us at Nextdoor: welcome to the neighborhood!
