St. Louis Neighborhoods Can Now Connect with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Written by Jen Burke

On the heels of our partnership with KQED last week, we would like to welcome another local news partner to Nextdoor: the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Over the past several years, St. Louis residents have been incredible adopters of Nextdoor. Hundreds of neighborhoods in St. Louis area are having helpful and informative conversations on Nextdoor. In fact, several of the paper’s staff are Nextdoor members, and have experienced firsthand the amazing conversations that take place in their communities on Nextdoor. As a result, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch truly values connecting with its readers in the neighborhoods they cover.

Nextdoor gives the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the ability to do that on a whole new level, while giving neighbors the opportunity to discuss breaking local news, important community issues, and the stories that matter most with the newspaper that covers it.

During a pilot period over the past several months, Beth O’Malley, the Post-Dispatch’s Community Engagement Editor, has been using Nextdoor to connect and share hyperlocal news with communities in the City of St. Louis.

“Using Nextdoor to connect our news stories within specific communities has enriched and enhanced our readers’ comments and discussions,” said O’Malley. “Our readers are more focused on how the story affects their community—many times offering suggestions on how to make their neighborhood a better place.”

In addition to providing Nextdoor members with relevant community news, this partnership also gives the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the opportunity to understand the stories that truly matter to their readers.

We are excited to welcome the St. Louis Post-Dispatch onto Nextdoor and hope the local news stories it shares inspires our members to join more conversations about what’s happening in their neighborhoods.
