Announcing Real Estate on Nextdoor

Written by Ali Jafari

Nextdoor was founded to help build stronger, safer, and more connected neighborhoods, all over the world.

Over the last five years, we’ve grown to more than 160,000 neighborhoods across the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. In the United States alone, over 75% of the neighborhoods across the country rely on Nextdoor to help build community and get things done. We’re excited to announce a new phase in our efforts to connect neighbors in meaningful ways.

Today, we’re introducing a new real estate section on Nextdoor, a unique way for real estate agents to build a relationship with the neighborhood.

Real estate has consistently been one of the most popular topics among neighbors in the United States, with tens of thousands of conversations about real estate occurring every day. Now, neighbors can use Nextdoor to discover local listings and connect with real estate professionals to get market insights.

This brand new feature includes a real estate section that will give neighbors the opportunity to communicate directly with real estate professionals on Nextdoor. Real estate will appear in the left-hand navigation menu on both web and mobile, in the newsfeed, and in the Daily Digest.

For real estate professionals, there are several ways to build relationships with neighbors on Nextdoor:

  • Claiming their free Local Page to create an official page to connect with residents, collect recommendations, and respond to comments and questions.
  • Purchasing Branded Listings to showcase neighbor recommendations next to each of their listings so homeowners know they’re a name they can trust.
  • Becoming a Neighborhood Sponsor to promote their market expertise and build relationships with people in the neighborhood.

The new real estate section is now available in the following markets: the greater Atlanta area, Austin, San Francisco Bay Area, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, and San Diego. There are currently a limited number of Neighborhood Sponsorship spots available on a first come, first serve basis, so claim your Local Page today and see if your local zip code is available.

Interested real estate agents can learn more by visiting nextdoor.com/realestate. If you’re a real estate broker and you’d like to get your agent’s listings on Nextdoor, reach out to us here.
