Summer of Good Neighbors: Celebrating Nextdoor Dover Crystal in Arlington, VA

Written by ndmulti

We had a great stop on our Summer Tour in Arlington this past weekend where we celebrated Nextdoor Dover Crystal, our first ever neighborhood in Virginia. Nextdoor Dover Crystal gets together often, hosting a barbecue block party in both June and September. We were fortunate enough to join their neighborhood gathering and brought some treats of our own, including the Orange Cow ice cream truck to serve ice cream scoops, sandwiches, and lemonade pops.

Over 200 neighbors gathered for the block party, including Chief Jay Farr and some of his officers from Arlington County Police Department. Chief Farr awarded our Good Neighbor Winner Jan Burns with the Nextdoor Good Neighbor Award.

Jan Burns was nominated for the Dover Crystal Good Neighbor award by several neighbors who each feel she is an irreplaceable member of the community. Jan is a longtime resident of Dover Crystal, and has been very active in bringing the neighborhood together through the years. From serving as association president, to hosting the annual 4th of July Parade, to helping with the Holiday Decorating Contest every year, Jan has served her community well through the years and has made Dover Crystal a better place to call home.

We were honored to celebrate Nextdoor Dover Crystal and thank them for helping grow Nextdoor from the very beginning. We’re heading to Dallas, TX for the 10th and final stop on our Summer of Good Neighbors Tour, and are thrilled to have Jenna Bush Hager joining us for the block party in Nextdoor Belmont Addition. See you there!
