KSAT San Antonio Joins the Neighborhood

San Antonio neighbors have something new to look forward to this holiday season. KSAT 12, ABC’s affiliate in San Antonio, announced today that they are joining Nextdoor to engage the community and encourage residents to become active participants in news stories.

Over the last six years, more than 1,130 San Antonio neighborhoods have been using Nextdoor for everything from finding a lost dog to catching a serial package thief. We have enjoyed hearing about the many ways San Antonio neighbors are connecting on Nextdoor, and we are thrilled that they will now have another way to stay in the know about the happenings in their local community.

Hot off the heels of welcoming Bexar County Sheriff’s Office to Nextdoor, KSAT joins us as our first TV news partner in San Antonio. They join the San Antonio Express-News, who partnered with Nextdoor back in June.

KSAT will use Nextdoor to not only share stories, but engage residents in the stories they work on. Through open-ended questions and Nextdoor polls, KSAT will have the opportunity to hear directly from residents about the various issues affecting San Antonians.

It is important to note that as for all partners on Nextdoor, KSAT will not have access to the neighborhood conversations taking place on Nextdoor and will not have access to neighbors’ contact information. KSAT can however interact with residents in the reply thread of posts they share and can also be reached through private message.

KSAT kicked off the partnership last week with a welcome post to residents within their service area, and have already received over 500 ‘Thanks’ from neighbors who are eager to connect with KSAT in this new way.
