Love Local: Nextdoor Celebrates your Neighborhood Favorites

Written by Annie Barco

At Nextdoor, we love local. It’s at the heart of everything we do. When we love local, we support the vibrant local businesses that make up our communities and help neighbors everywhere build happier, healthier, and more connected places to call home.

There are numerous benefits to shopping local – it helps improve our local economies, reduces environmental impact, creates more job opportunities, and helps us feel connected to our greater community.

So, to help each of you love local in 2019, we are making it easier than ever to discover the best your neighborhood has to offer with the release of our Neighborhood Favorites. Neighborhood Favorites is an annual awards program that helps celebrate and recognize the best businesses in local communities across the United States by amplifying what every business owner cherishes – word of mouth. Throughout October 2018, we asked neighbors to vote on their favorite local businesses, and, boy, did neighbors share a lot of local love. In fact, more than 300,000 local businesses have been recognized as a Neighborhood Favorite this year.

  • Hello,
My company won Neighborhood favorite in 2019 but the voting was in October and announced in November. I’m confused why it is being run again now in February for 2020? Basically my company was recognized as favorite for just a couple months and now I am asking my clients to vote again just 4 months later. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
