Welcoming Neighborland to the Nextdoor Family!

Written by Craig Lisowski

We’re thrilled to announce that Nextdoor has acquired Neighborland, the leading public engagement platform improving the way city agencies and local organizations collaborate with their communities. Nextdoor and Neighborland share a passion for helping neighbors get more involved in their local community by connecting them to important neighborhood information and resources. We know that this is critical to building stronger communities.

As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, the need to provide residents an easy way to connect with information from their public agencies has become increasingly clear. Nextdoor is the only platform that enables public agencies to reach real people at the neighborhood level in real time. Neighborland has been a leader in connecting citizens with city agencies, universities, foundations, and nonprofits across the U.S, and, together, we will be able to expand our current offering for public agency partners as well as serve more new public agency verticals, like the recent onboarding of Governors Cuomo and Newsom.

“Getting residents engaged in the civic process is important as a society. Nextdoor is uniquely positioned to scale Neighborland’s work to connect people with relevant information and services that allow them to make informed decisions as it relates to the strength and health of the neighborhood,” said Neighborland co-founder Dan Parham. “We are thrilled to continue our mission at a more impactful scale, alongside the incredible team at Nextdoor.”

The Neighborland team brings extensive experience working directly with local, state, and federal agencies, and co-founders Dan and Tee Parham will now lead our Public Agencies team at Nextdoor.

Nextdoor’s purpose is to cultivate a kinder world where everyone has a neighborhood to rely on. Our public agency partners are core to this. We couldn’t be more excited to join forces, and look forward to continuing to build stronger communities around the world.
