We’re opening our first office in Texas, establishing a new hub in Dallas that marks our fifth U.S. location.
Dallas-Fort Worth has been a natural fit for us as a company long before this announcement. The metro is one of the fastest-growing in the country, with millions of residents spread across hundreds of distinct communities, and more than 8,000 neighborhoods across DFW are already active on Nextdoor. For a company built on the idea that neighborhoods are among the most important communities in people's lives, few markets present a better match.
The Dallas office opens with a local executive foundation already in place. Our CEO Nirav Tolia and CFO Indrajit Ponnambalam are both based there, joined on day one by 15 employees across Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and Engineering. We expect the team to grow to 30-40 members by summer 2026, with a particular emphasis on engineering talent.
"Dallas isn't just a place we're opening an office. It's a city I call home," said Tolia. "The talent here is exceptional, the community is vibrant, and this city embodies exactly what Nextdoor stands for: neighbors investing in where they live. We're committed to building a long-term visible presence in our incredible city."
Tolia co-founded Nextdoor in 2011 with a belief shaped in part by his upbringing in Odessa, Texas: that neighborhoods are one of the most important communities in our lives. He relocated to Dallas in 2021 and has since become active in the city's civic and entrepreneurial ecosystem, including a board seat at the Economic Club of Dallas and a role alongside his wife Megha as co-founding directors of the William S. Spears Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at SMU's Cox School of Business.
Ponnambalam makes the case from the business side.
"From a business standpoint, Dallas is one of the smartest bets we can make," he said. "We get access to talent across engineering, product, and corporate functions in a market that's growing faster than almost anywhere else in the country, one where we want to hire and where Nextdoor is already an integral part of local communities."
Nextdoor is currently operating out of The Stack in Deep Ellum (2700 Commerce St.) while securing a permanent location in Uptown Dallas.
Open roles for the Dallas office are posted at about.nextdoor.com/careers.
