Henderson, NV neighbor Heidi Williams has always been passionate about animals, and is an active volunteer for a local nonprofit called StreetDogz, which provides medical services as well as food and supplies to animals that live with community members that struggle with homelessness.
During the holiday season, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and the significant impact it makes on those who are less fortunate. With that in mind, Heidi posted in her Nextdoor neighborhood with an urgent plea asking for her neighbors’ help in donating cat food for the organization, as they were specifically low on cat supplies and needed them desperately.
Heidi was hoping to get a few bags of cat food, but was not expecting the overwhelming response that greeted her the next time she logged on to Nextdoor. Not only did dozens of neighbors offer to help donate cat food, others contributed a total of 13 large bags of dog food, pet jackets, litter, ferret supplies, animal toys and beds! Some even came back multiple times to drop off items. Neighbors also included heartwarming notes thanking Heidi for her work.
We are thankful for neighbors like Heidi who make sure even animals felt the cheer this holiday season.
