We are working every day to make Nextdoor better for all of our users. Here's a quick look at what's new. See our updates from last quarter →
Better ways to follow local conversations
We’re continuing to improve the core feed and conversation experience so Nextdoor feels more useful every time you open it.
Recent updates have focused on making discussions easier to follow, improving feed quality, and helping neighbors see more of the local conversations that matter most to them.
Introducing Ask
We're bringing AI into more of Nextdoor, with a vision for Ask to become the neighborhood's go-to place to find out what's happening, get a recommendation, or get a direct answer.
Ask is designed to point neighbors to the right answer, whether that's a conversation already happening, a trusted local business, another neighbor, or a Group, drawing on nearly fifteen years of trusted conversations between verified neighbors.
We're now putting that same knowledge to work inside conversations themselves: when a neighbor's question goes unanswered, Ask can surface a response drawn from those years of neighborhood conversations, keeping things moving until someone else chimes in.
More visibility into your posts' reach
We've expanded Post Insights so neighbors can see the real reach and impact of what they share, directly on their profile.
Discover more local events, more easily
We rebuilt the Events experience to make it easier for neighbors to search through upcoming events and find the ones most interesting to them.
Expanded direct access to local journalists
We’re continuing to make it easier for neighbors to connect with trusted local reporting on Nextdoor.
Following our early-access launch of journalist accounts this spring, we’re bringing more journalist voices onto the platform. We now have 500+ journalists on Nextdoor across the US.
In April 2026, we published a case study in partnership with Hearst’s MySA, showing how one reporter, Zachary-Taylor Wright, used their Nextdoor journalist account to source and publish 10+ stories. Overall, their journalist account significantly outperformed the news publisher page average in the San Antonio DMA across all key engagement metrics.
Looking ahead: making local recommendations easier to find
We’re continuing to build on the local recommendations that make Nextdoor unique. In the second half of the year, we’ll make Faves easier to discover and more useful for neighbors and local businesses, including the return of our annual in-product Faves voting campaign this fall with a revamped in-product voting experience. Together, these efforts are designed to turn trusted neighbor recommendations into a year-round connection between neighbors and the businesses they love.
Smarter auto-targeting for small businesses
We've integrated a new machine learning system into Quick Create that automatically finds the best audience for subscription advertisers. Small business owners don't have time to become marketing experts, so this update does the heavy lifting for them, delivering more engagement and better value for their spend without any extra setup.
A simpler desktop checkout for SMB customers
We've redesigned the desktop review and payment page to be simpler and more intuitive. Since the update, significantly more businesses are successfully adding payment methods and getting their first campaigns live faster.
Backup payment methods keep campaigns running
Card-based advertisers can now save backup payment methods. If a default card is declined, billing automatically retries the next saved card in the same cycle before anything pauses, so campaigns don't drop over a payment hiccup. Advertisers have full self-serve control to add, swap, or remove cards anytime.
Catch setup errors before campaigns go live
Advertisers can now validate their campaign setup before launching, reducing setup errors and friction so campaigns go live with confidence. This one started as a hackathon idea and made it all the way to production.
Better visibility into ad performance and account health
We’re also continuing to improve the advertiser experience in Nextdoor Ads Manager.
Recent updates include the ability to add Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) reporting in the dashboard, and proactive notifications that help advertisers stay ahead of tracking or token issues.
Together, these changes are designed to make campaign management more transparent and easier to act on.
Easier campaign management in Nextdoor Ads Manager
We’ve rolled out usability updates to the Nextdoor Ads Manager dashboard designed to make campaign management faster and more intuitive.
These updates include:
Together, these changes make it easier for advertisers to navigate accounts, analyze performance, and act quickly.
Introducing Opportunity Alerts
We’ve launched Opportunity Alerts, a paid product that routes high-intent service requests from verified neighbors directly to local businesses in select categories like plumbers, landscapers, and handymen. The launch responds to record demand for local business discovery on the platform. Opportunity Alerts already routes more than 100,000 alerts per week, turning neighbor requests into real leads for the businesses that show up when it counts.
Privacy-safe measurement for healthcare advertisers
We’ve introduced a new Freshpaint CAPI integration that helps healthcare advertisers measure and optimize performance in a more privacy-conscious way.
The integration routes conversion data through Freshpaint’s server-side CAPI connection to Nextdoor rather than relying on a direct browser-side Nextdoor pixel, helping preserve HIPAA compliant measurement and optimization on Nextdoor.
Better conversion visibility in reporting
Advertisers can now track the single conversion event that matters most to them directly in their Nextdoor Ads Manager dashboard.
This gives advertisers a clearer view into performance for the outcomes they care about most — whether that’s a purchase, lead, or sign-up.
Lead optimization: spend where the leads are
Advertisers running lead-focused campaigns can now optimize for a single outcome.
Lead Single Event Optimization is now live for eligible US advertisers. The model focuses on one signal: which neighbors are most likely to submit a lead form. Budget automatically concentrates on those users and pulls back from impressions unlikely to convert.
In beta, every participating advertiser saw a lower cost per lead than their standard conversion campaigns, with a median improvement of 42%.
Smarter optimization powered by fresh performance data
We’ve continued improving ad performance systems behind the scenes.
Our Click Optimization and Conversion Optimization models now retrain automatically on a regular schedule so they keep learning from fresh performance signals. In recent experiments, the updated framework improved click-through rate while lowering cost per click, and improved conversion rate while lowering cost per action.
