With over 75% of American neighborhoods now using Nextdoor, we’re excited about the progress we’ve made, but the U.S. is only the beginning.
In the last few years, we’ve expanded to neighborhoods in the Netherlands and United Kingdom and today we’re excited to announce the next step in our journey. Willkommen to Nextdoor Deutschland!
A few months ago, we launched a private beta in Germany and now have more than 200 German neighborhoods using the service. The results have confirmed our belief that neighbors – and neighborhoods – around the world are more similar than they are different. Our German members use Nextdoor in many of the same ways as their brethren in our other countries: to start sports clubs, organize flea markets, plan neighborhood parties, and share advice and recommendations.
In fact, new research from YouGov shows that Germans want to know their neighbors. One in five Germans (20%) want to know their neighbors more personally. Social media can help, as 66% of Germans are not connected with a single neighbor on social media.
Those interested in being a part of their neighborhood conversation on Nextdoor joining can visit www.nextdoor.de and enter their email and home address. If a Nextdoor website has already been established in the area, they can immediately sign up. If a Nextdoor website has not yet been established, neighbors can easily become the Founding Member and be the one who brings Nextdoor to their neighborhood.
To our new neighbors across Germany: willkommen!
