Hot off the heels of welcoming Tucson.com to Nextdoor, we are celebrating the on boarding of another trusted newspaper to the platform – Quad-City Times.
Quad-City Times is the daily morning newspaper based in Davenport, Iowa, and is circulated to neighborhoods throughout the Quad Cities metropolitan area including Davenport, Bettendorf, and Scott County in Iowa and Moline, East Moline, Rock Island, and Rock Island County in Illinois. We know that Quad-City Times deeply values connecting with their audience in new ways, and that many of its reporters and photographers are fellow Quad Cities neighbors, so this partnership is a natural fit.
On Nextdoor, Quad-City Times will be able to address the local issues that matter most to Quad City neighbors, and share the stories that are of the utmost relevance. Perhaps even more exciting is the opportunity for Quad-City Times to interact directly with residents through Nextdoor polls and open-ended questions. In fact, the paper has already begun engaging neighbors in this way, asking about favorite sledding spots in the area and seeking help in identifying wanted suspects.
Quad-City Times’ news stories will appear in Nextdoor newsfeeds across the Quad Cities, as well as members’ Daily Digests. The paper can see and respond to replies to their posts; however, the rest of the neighborhood conversations remains private for the verified members of each community.
