Welcoming Mike Doyle to the neighborhood

Written by Nirav Tolia

Nextdoor is proud to welcome Mike Doyle as the company’s first Chief Financial Officer. Mike brings extensive financial, operational, and strategic expertise to Nextdoor at a critical juncture for the company. With our global footprint expanding rapidly, our monetization efforts ramping in multiple business lines, and our establishment as civic infrastructure in hundreds of thousands of neighborhoods, Mike’s track record of leadership will add incredible value to Nextdoor.

Mike’s more than 20 years of corporate finance and planning and analysis experience at several successful international consumer internet companies, most recently included a five year tenure as CFO at Despegar, the largest Latin American travel agency. Based out of Despegar’s headquarters in Argentina, Mike led the company’s successful IPO in 2017.

Prior to his role at Despegar, Mike held the same role at eLong, a China-based online travel agency, where he led all strategic and financial planning, corporate development, investor relations, financial operations and resource allocation activities. During his leadership, eLong’s revenue doubled in three years, delivering the first three years of profitability in the company’s 10-year history. Mike has also held leadership roles at Expedia, Teledesic, and GIC (Government of Singapore Investment Corporation).

We are excited that Mike made the decision to move from Buenos Aires to San Francisco where he will be based in our global headquarters and report to me. We’ve never been more excited about the future of Nextdoor, and Mike is a tremendous addition to the company. Please join me in welcoming Mike Doyle to the neighborhood!
