The Results Are In: Announcing Your 2017 Neighborhood Favorites

Written by Paul Howe

We all have our favorite local spots in our neighborhood, whether it’s the coffee shop that knows our order by heart or the dry cleaner who has our pick-up ready without needing a claim ticket. These amazing local businesses are what make each of our neighborhoods unique and special.

We not only love frequenting our favorite businesses, but we also love sharing them with others and discovering the new ones our neighbors recommend.

That’s why Nextdoor introduced Neighborhood Favorites, an annual awards program, to help celebrate and recognize the best businesses in local communities by amplifying what every business owner cherishes – word of mouth.

Neighborhood Favorites is an unprecedented resource for the best neighbor-recommended businesses in more than 100,000 unique neighborhoods across the country.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the outstanding local businesses that have achieved a true sense of connectedness with their community and make their neighborhoods such wonderful places to live. To see your Neighborhood Favorites list on web, go to the “Recommendations” section on Nextdoor or visit nextdoor.com/recommendations/winners/. If on the mobile app, click the heart icon in the bottom navigation bar.

You can also discover the winning lists for neighborhoods outside your own. If you’re just visiting a neighborhood or wondering who won in the neighborhood you grew up in, you can search for them here (click on the state, city and neighborhood where you would like to see Favorites).

Nextdoor members shared more than 17 million recommendations for their favorite local businesses, resulting in more than 200,000 Neighborhood Favorite local businesses this year in a variety of categories.

Read on to hear about some of the amazing Neighborhood Favorite winners whose businesses have captured the hearts of neighbors in their community. And remember to support local businesses in your neighborhood this Small Business Saturday on November 25th!
